Louise Boulter

Louise Boulter is a London-based painter, and a recent Art and Design (BA Hons) graduate. Interested in the relationship between surface and content, she explores the cross-over of abstraction and representation in a quest to challenge how the eye sees and record daily life.

Her current series observes everyday occurrences, allowing the glimpses of narrative to magnify mundane events; which to the individual seem crucial to their existence. With an emphasis on solitude and isolation, the works retain an enigmatic sense of character, whilst exploring how fundamental the relationships between a person and objects become in these intimate moments.

Her visual language is driven by both drawn and painterly qualities of which she fuses together on the picture plane, whilst painting on canvas, paper or wood.
