Michael Swallow
Biography:
With a career spanning four decades, Michael’s artful and atmospheric imagery occupies that rare position of being sought after in both the commercial and fine art sectors.
His interests and influences are wide and varied, and to this end, his subjects vary greatly in terms of scale and location, but essentially Michael's work explores the rhythms and patterns of the natural world. This can involve contemplating time and tide at the extremities of the British Isles or examining the intimate detail of delicate still-life in the studio.
Whether working to a commissioned brief, or engaged on one of his personal projects, Michael connects intuitively with his subjects creating timeless and highly evocative images that convey a sense of space, light and spirit of place.
Highly commended twice in The Sunday Times Landscape Photographer of the Year, he was also a finalist in The Travel Photographer of the Year in 2015. Michael has been a recipient of The Observer Outdoor Photographer of the Year and his series 24hrs from Land’s End was selected for the One Eyeland international awards.
A regular exhibitor on the London art scene, his limited edition prints are collected and sold worldwide.
